The Shetland based mussel farming business Blue Shell Mussels LTD have placed an order for two mussel harvesting vessels from Skagen Ship Consulting AS.
Blue Shell Mussels LTD is a family-owned business and have been farming mussels in Shetland since 1997. The company considered various layouts before concluding with a final design, which met the required objectives and will deliver greater efficiency. The vessels will be used for harvesting mussels from their rope-grown mussel farms and will be built by Skagen Ship Consulting at Etkin Marin in Istanbul, Turkey. Delivery is planned for Q4 2021.
